Rhinoplasty

Enhance Your Figure

A personalised
path to confidence

Rhinoplasty is a sophisticated procedure designed to enhance facial harmony and the proportions of the nose. It can be performed for aesthetic reasons, such as reducing a dorsal hump, refining a bulbous tip, or straightening a deviation, as well as for functional reasons to correct a deviated septum and restore optimal nasal breathing.

Dr. Gus Hoogendyk approaches rhinoplasty with an architectural mindset, favouring modern structural and preservation rhinoplasty techniques. This ensures that the delicate nasal cartilage and bone are reshaped with precision without compromising the structural integrity of the airway. His objective is to create a nose that appears perfectly balanced with your unique facial features.

“A beautiful nose does not draw attention to itself, but rather elevates the eyes and overall harmony of the face.”

What Are The Benefits?

Why Patients Choose Rhinoplasty

Balanced Proportions

Brings the size and width of the nose into aesthetically pleasing alignment with other facial features.

Profile Refinement

Smooths out visible dorsal humps or depressions on the bridge for a sleeker side profile.

Improved Function

Corrects internal deviations and structural abnormalities to significantly enhance breathing airway flow.

Precision Tip Contouring

Refines and elevates droopy, bulbous, or asymmetrical nasal tips to create elegant definition.

Structural Integrity

Modern grafting techniques ensure the newly shaped nose remains structurally sound for a lifetime.

Harmonious Integration

Results are highly customised so that the nose fits your specific face, ethnicity, and gender beautifully.

Step By Step

Your Procedure,
Step By Step

Each stage is designed around your comfort, safety, and outcome. Dr. Gus walks every patient through this process in detail during your fully private consultation.

Personal Consultation

A meticulous analysis of your facial proportions, internal airway, and a review of digital imaging.

The surgical plan is finalised, and general anaesthesia is administered to ensure a completely painless procedure

Using open or closed techniques, the nasal skin is gently lifted to allow precise sculpting and grafting.

Fine sutures are placed, and an external splint or cast is applied to protect the delicate new structure.

The splint is removed after one week. Micro-swelling of the nasal tip refines gradually over 12-18 months.

Step By Step

What Is Recovery Like?

Rhinoplasty recovery is generally not painful, though patients will experience congestion and visible swelling.

Days 1–3

Expect nasal congestion (similar to a severe cold) and mild swelling or bruising around the eyes.

Week 1

The external cast and stitches are removed. Most bruising begins to fade, and you may cautiously return to public spaces.

Month 1

Approximately 70-80% of visible swelling subsides. Resume most normal daily routines and light exercise.

Final Result

The remaining subtle swelling, especially in the nasal tip, slowly resolves over 12 to 18 months.

Common Questions

Patient Inquiries & Clinical Protocols

How long does the rhinoplasty procedure take?

A primary rhinoplasty typically takes 2 to 3 hours, whereas complex cases may require more time.

Performed under general anaesthesia to ensure the airway is protected and the patient is perfectly still.

Incisions are internal (closed) or involve a tiny incision across the columella (open) that heals virtually imperceptible

Desk work resumes after 1 week. Strenuous exercise and contact sports must be avoided for 4-6 weeks.

The structural changes are permanent, though the nose will age naturally with the rest of your face.
