Botox and Neuromodulators

Botox® temporarily reduces activity in selected muscles to soften wrinkles caused by facial expressions.

Smooth Fine Lines and Wrinkles With Botox

Repeated facial movements, such as frowning, squinting and raising the eyebrows, cause the skin to crease. Over time, these expression lines can become more noticeable. Patients may choose Botox to soften these lines and achieve a refreshed appearance through a short, nonsurgical treatment.

What is Botox?

Botox treatment involves small injections into targeted muscles. It temporarily blocks the nerve signals that trigger muscle contraction, allowing the overlying skin to crease less during facial movement. It primarily treats expression-related wrinkles. Lines that remain visible at rest may improve less completely and may require other treatments. The effect is temporary, and muscle activity gradually returns.

“Precision neuromodulation softens dynamic lines while honoring the natural, expressive character of your face.”

Step By Step

What to expect during your Botox (Step by step)

Each stage is designed around your comfort, safety, and outcome. Dr. Gus walks every patient through this process in detail during your fully private consultation.

Personal Consultation

Dr Gus will assess your facial movements, existing lines, brow position and goals. Suitable candidates are adults with expression-related wrinkles and realistic expectations. Photographs may be taken to document progress.

Inform Dr Gus about any muscle or nerve condition, swallowing or breathing difficulty, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and previous reactions to botulinum toxin. Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from the prescribing doctor.

The treatment areas are cleaned, and small amounts of Botox are injected with a fine needle into selected muscles. You may feel brief pinching or stinging. Anaesthesia is usually unnecessary, although comfort measures may be offered. You will receive personalised aftercare instructions and advice about follow-up.

What Is Recovery Like?

Immediately after treatment

Small injection-site bumps, redness or tenderness may occur and usually settle quickly. Bruising can last longer. Most patients can resume routine daily activities immediately. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas and follow Dr Gus’s advice about exercise and other activities. The effect develops over the following days, so the immediate appearance does not represent the final result.

How is Botox different from fillers and biostimulators?

Botox reduces selected muscle activity to soften expression lines. Fillers add volume, while biostimulators encourage collagen production. They address different concerns and may be combined when appropriate.

Changes may begin within 5 to 7 days and become more noticeable at about two weeks.

Routine repeat treatments are 3 to 4 months apart. Your schedule will be individualised.

Results usually last approximately three to four months. Duration varies according to the treated muscles, dose and individual response. Movement and expression lines gradually return as the effect wears off.

Botox treats muscle-related lines; it does not remove excess skin or correct substantial facial sagging. A facelift or another treatment may be more suitable when these are the main concerns.

Treatment aims to balance wrinkle reduction with your preferred degree of movement.

Side effects include bruising, injection-site discomfort, headache, asymmetry and temporary eyelid or brow drooping. Rarely, serious allergic reactions or effects away from the injection site can occur.
